How to plan your interior redecoration project
Renovating your home can be both an intensely exciting yet stressful time. There are many decisions to make, there are the finances to consider and if the family intends to stay in the house whilst it is being redecorated, that is when tensions can rise.
On the flip side, once all the renovation work is complete, the family can enjoy a house that suits their specific needs.
Stress cannot be totally eradicated. However, with careful planning, the level of stress and disruption to the household can be minimised.
The team at Auckland boutique decorating company, Wall Treats Limited, has worked with interior designers and house owners in numerous residential redecoration projects. Co-owner, Ashley Wong, draws on her experience to share with readers how they can effectively plan their interior redecoration projects.
There are nine key factors you should consider when planning your home’s interior redecoration. Ashley discusses these in a special report titled, How to plan your interior redecoration project, which is available on request from Wall Treats.
This special report offers tips on the sequence in which activities should occur. In a redecoration project, this is important. You do not want to duplicate costs by having to undo then re-do a piece of work due to lack of planning.
In a redecoration project, it is likely that there are many trades involved. For example, a kitchen makeover is likely to involve a builder, an electrician, a plumber, a plasterer, a painter and the cabinet/ bench top maker. How should one coordinate all these trades?
A gap in the process may mean rescheduling everyone else. This may mean that completion dates will have to be pushed out, especially in the Christmas rush period. This will result in more disruption and disappointment to the family.
This report also offers ideas on seeking professional assistance to help maximise the benefits from your home redecoration project.
There are also experiences and lessons that others who have well travelled the redecoration route have amassed over the years.
