This property is a grand weatherboard bungalow in the heart of Remuera.

The owners renovated the rear of the home to include a new kitchen and an alfresco dining deck. This section of the house was painted by the builder’s painters and Wall Treats were engaged in to repaint the exterior of the original house.

Often, homeowners are not asked whether they prefer a brushed or sprayed finish on their weatherboards, however there is a stark difference in the result achieved by the different application methods. The builder’s painters used a spray machine, resulting in a thin, matt finish. The areas Wall Treats painted by brush have a thicker, glossier appearance – despite the same product and colour being applied. This property is a dramatic example of the different paint finishes achieved with spray machine and brush.
