Westmere Bungalow Repaint

This property, a handsome bungalow in Westmere, had been previously renovated however its new paint finish (delivered by another house painting company) was already cracking and flaking off. Like many bungalows of its era, the home features beautiful architectural details - including timber framing along the verandah and decorative leadlight windows - that demanded a particularly careful and considered approach to repainting.
To ensure this home could be repainted to the Wall Treats standard, a painstaking approach to preparation was required. Hours of scraping and sanding resulted in a pristine surface that could then be painted with confidence. Special care was taken around the intricate fretwork, where paint build-up and flaking had accumulated in the carved details, and around the delicate leadlight window frames, where precision was essential to protect the original glazing while achieving a clean, crisp finish.
Our client's design consultant, Helen Wilcock of Design Spec, had specified an elegant grey and white colour scheme. This palette worked beautifully with the home's heritage character — the white tones picking out the fretwork detailing and window surrounds to striking effect, while the grey brought a sophisticated depth to the broader exterior surfaces. Combined with the high quality finish, the result truly honours the craftsmanship of the original architecture.
